Eminem drops homophobic lyrics for the UK
EMINEM has agreed to drop homophobic lyrics from his songs for his British audience next year.

The rapper has been confirmed as a headline act at London's Wireless Festival next summer, his first performance in the UK for five years.

But in an attempt to prevent gay rights campaigners from protesting at the event, Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers - agreed to change the words in some of his more controversial songs.

Quoted in the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for activist group OutRage! said: "We have a condition that he does not use lyrics that encourage or incite hatred against gay people.

"He is free to express his views on gay people, as long as he stays off the violence and hatred. He has got plenty of other lyrics to choose from. In recent years he has become quite well-behaved.

"I think he realises singing songs advocating hate and violence just won't wash any more. Society's moved on in the last ten years."
